If you have a preschooler at home with you like I do, you know that you have to keep them entertained all the time, and often that requires you to be creative. I do have a few creative genes in my body...just not the {drawing} one. My daughter is an amazing artist though, and has chuckled a few times at my attempts.:( I'm okay with the sad fact, I cannot draw.
p.s. Obviously, I stink at Pictionary, which isn't fun.
But yesterday I decided to use the window as a tracing board. It worked just like this little writing board I had as a kid, it lit up for tracing different outfits. Did any of you have one of those kits? It was some art designing kit. I wish I still had it, G would love it.
...
I just googled "Iron giant" {since Greg just finished watching that cute movie, and of course as usual, tried to draw it and then asked me to draw it.} I Printed an image and then held it up to a window with a blank paper over, traced it with a pencil. Greg was impressed and tried it too. Next time I'll start with a simpler drawing. I think it's a good way to learn to draw!
When my artist child got home from school, she asked who drew the picture, I told her I did...she paused and then looked at me...we showed her how we did it, and she was still impressed. Thought you might like it too!
Have a great Friday!
XO
Elisabeth
